"What lies behind us, and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
—Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have always enjoyed supporting others and volunteered from the age of fifteen when I began visiting and shopping for vulnerable members of my community. Since then I have worked in a number of roles across the education system, first as a teacher, and laterally as a specialist support tutor to neurodivergent students in higher education, and a wellbeing mentor to students aged 16 upwards. I trained as a counsellor and built my private practice alongside this work. I now work in private practice only.
Originally from north-east London, I grew up in an environment where adult trauma, addiction, and shame, shaped my formative years and my mental health journey. Attending counselling as an adult helped me to 'hold on' through difficult times and to gradually make sense of myself and my experiences. These now inform many aspects of my practice. I have learned a lot and am passionate about helping people overcome the obstacles they meet in relationship with themselves and others. It can take great courage to confront the past and to move forward but with support, we can find strength we didn't know we had and allow new possibilities to open up in front of us.
